Your organisation can also participate in World Mental Health Day and raise awareness of its theme "It's time to prioritise mental health in the workplace". Because mental health problems in society are constantly on the rise. Statistics extracted from the Finnish Association for Mental Health website:
- According to an OECD report, mental health disorders cost Finland around eleven billion euros annually.
- The OECD estimates that mental health and behavioural disorders account for more than half of all disability pensions.
- At least one in five Finns will experience a mental disorder in their lifetime and one in five will suffer from depression.
Similar numbers apply to most other countries too.
Early support services such as Auntie are effective in reducing the costs of mental health problems. We have had astonishingly good results during the existence of Auntie, as evidenced by the feedback we have collected from Auntie users and our clients.

World Mental Health Day on October 10th provides an opportunity to share personal experiences of coping with mental wellbeing challenges, especially through Auntie, to challenge the stigma, discrimination and exclusion associated with mental health, and to highlight the importance of promoting mental health for all.
