View Group provides financial and payroll-related services in over 40 countries and has more than 1,000 employees. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit in full force, View Group’s Norwegian HR Director, Tonje Magnussøn, was left alone with 220 Norwegian employees who experienced major changes in their workdays. View Group wanted to support its employees in this new global situation, and the solution was found in Auntie.
Auntie offers companies and their employees easy to approach, preventive support for mental wellbeing, personal development, and leadership. The use of Auntie has help to decrease sick-leaves, reduced employee stress levels by 18%, and as many as 97% of the company’s employees recommend using Auntie.
Auntie plays a role in fostering "the good conversation"
Employees speak warmly about the support and help they have received from Auntie professionals. The use of Auntie spreads naturally within the organisation as colleagues recommend it to one another.
Auntie offers various conversation packages focused on mental wellbeing and personal development. According to Tonje, the two most popular ones are "Stressed Out"* and "Born to Lead". Employees often get in touch with her to request access to additional packages, as their initial experience has been so beneficial. They report that the conversations have been constructive, the reflection exercises helpful, and the entire process has had a positive impact on their wellbeing.
Over the past year, the company has also taken advantage of Auntie’s webinars, where Auntie professionals share insights on various timely topics that support workplace wellbeing.
The results from employee surveys speak for themselves:
- Stress levels: - 18%
- Efficiency: + 15%
- Satisfaction: 9.5 out of 10
- Recommend the service: 97 %
In addition, employees experience a 30% increase in wellbeing after having the 5 sessions that make up each Auntie conversation package.

Periods of high workload, stress, and sick leave
The first half of the year is a busy period for View Group's employees, with many deliveries, deadlines and thus also overtime work. In such times, it can be difficult to maintain a healthy work-life balance, which in turn can lead to burnout.
Once sick leave is a fact, the occupational health service or psychologist through the insurance scheme often comes into play. For both the employee and the company, this help often comes a little late.
Auntie, on the other hand, takes a preventive approach; employees receive help to sort through their thoughts, are given effective strategies and tools to manage stress in a healthier way – and Auntie has become an important resource for preventing sick leave.
Tonje feels that without Auntie's help, the company would have had an even higher level of sick leave, although this is of course difficult to quantify. However, the positive effects of Auntie at an individual level are the most important thing for Tonje and View Group.
Auntie for everyone - including managers
The use of Auntie develops as employees take on new roles in the company. For example, younger employees who move up and become team leaders with new, large teams can find this demanding. Within View Group, Auntie's leadership modules are then used.
"Of course, there are other leadership programs, but this one-on-one coaching is really a luxury to have as a leader," says Tonje: "Having someone to talk to when you're brand new in your role is a great support".
Auntie helps employees build their confidence as a leader, so that they are steadier in their leadership role and become better leaders - which in turn benefits all employees.
Voluntary
Tonje emphasises how important it is that those who use Auntie are motivated - that they want to. "It doesn't work well if a manager has told you that you MUST. We don't run it that way, it doesn't work well," Tonje explains.
Building trust and connection – even through a screen
After many years of use, Tonje Magnussøn is impressed by how good the individuals among Auntie professionals are: They are able to create security in relationships, even through a screen.
View Group operates in many different locations and getting a service to all employees, regardless of geography - that's worth a lot!
