Leading with Grit and Grace: What Smart Sisu offers leaders navigating uncertain times

Auntie Leader Circle webinar with Dr. Elisabet Lahti

Elisabet Lahti

The webinar is led by Dr. Elisabet Lahti, the world’s leading researcher on Sisu. Her work has been featured by The Economist, and her research offers a timely reframing of Sisu: not as mere toughness, but as the capacity to lead with clarity, steadiness, and responsibility under sustained pressure.

Uncertain times and continuous change have reshaped what leadership requires. Leading today means navigating pressure, complexity, and responsibility. In this context, sisu becomes more than perseverance. It becomes a leadership capability that combines strength and humanity.

Sisu is a uniquely Finnish concept often associated with grit and perseverance. In this webinar, we introduce Sisu as a modern leadership capability, one that responds to the realities of today’s uncertainty.

This webinar explores how leaders can balance the hard and soft sides of leadership, delivering results without depleting themselves or their teams. It focuses on endurance, judgment, and self-leadership in times where change is constant and the stakes are high.
