Written by Merja Jukola | Oct 9, 2024 10:23:59 AM

The theme of World Mental Health Day 2024 is: "It's time to prioritise mental health in the workplace".

According to studies, a third of working-age people are at risk of burnout, but how do employers succeed in prevention? Auntie urges organisations to offer low-threshold mental well-being services to employees even before challenges pile up.

Mental health is a serious problem also in Finland

Mental health problems in society are constantly growing. Statistical information extracted from the Finnish Mieli ry website:

  • According to an OECD report, mental health disorders cost approximately eleven billion euros annually in Finland.
  • More than half of all disability pensions have already been granted due to mental and behavioural disorders.
  • At least one in five Finns will experience a mental health disorder during the year and one in five will develop depression during their lifetime.

Auntie helps prioritise mental well-being

Early support services, such as Auntie, effectively reduce the costs caused by mental health problems. Auntie has achieved very good results in maintaining and improving mental wellbeing, as evidenced by the feedback we have collected from Auntie users and our customers.

According to Auntie's user survey:

  • 84% say Auntie has prevented burnout.
  • 48% say Auntie has reduced sick leave for mental health reasons
  • 87% say Auntie has improved their overall wellbeing
  • 62% say Auntie has helped them find more motivation

But:

  • 59% say mental wellbeing is not a management priority.

World Mental Health Day 10.10. provides an opportunity to share personal experiences of coping with mental wellbeing challenges, for example through Auntie.
